Today, Massage Therapy includes a broad range of modalities and techniques Some of the Ones I have studied and include in my practice are:
The form of fascial release I use is actually a part of craniosacral therapy, guided by proprioception, restrictions are located, gentle sustained pressure and body unwinding are used to release stress and restriction patterns found in the fascial sheaths, relieving pain and discomfort, and encouraging a feeling of ease and comfort.
Jin Shin Acupressure
This is a form of Acupressure, applied to the energy meridians using a base point and following a release pattern. Sometimes the base point is the end of a meridian while contacting the corresponding organ (such as the liver or the heart) to release energy or tissue restrictions in or around the organ. This form of therapy is gentle and deeply relaxing as well and leaving one filled with a renewed sense of energy.
This modality is designed to encourage the flow of lymph through the channels relieving congestion. It is beneficial when healing from surgery or trauma, and from recovering from illness, as well as to facilitate detoxification.
Is a form of energy work that is profoundly healing as well as deeply relaxing. It involves a protocol of hand placements that progressively cover the body, top to bottom, back to front. I use this modality in combination with Craniosacral Therapy, and Raindrop Essential Oil Therapy.
Essential Oils are the distilled essence of healing herbs and plants, and have been used throughout history for their healing, detoxifying, revitalizing, as well as antibacterial, antiviral and anti fungal properties. I use Young Living Oils as I feel drawn to in a given session (client permission granting of course.)
